Spy vs. Spy III: Arctic Antics (1986) was the third and final installment in the Spy vs. Spy trilogy, and shifted the comic espionage rivalry to the frozen tundra. Once again, players control either the black or white spy as they race to collect mission-critical items—a gyroscope, keycard, and fuel canister—and escape via rocket before a deadly blizzard arrives.
New hazards and tools suit the arctic setting: saws can slice holes into the ice, snowdrifts conceal traps, and a plunger detonator can be rigged with dynamite. Snowball fights replace fistfights, and maintaining body heat becomes essential, as exposure to the cold gradually drains a spy’s vitality. Players can recover warmth inside heated igloos scattered around the iceberg.
While Arctic Antics retains the same trap-setting and slapstick formula of its predecessors, it introduces environmental threats and a more urgent survival element to the series’ trademark chaos.
