Purple Saturn Day

1989
This 1989 release of a title developed by ERE Informatique took the idea of the Epyx Games series to outer space.  Held once every four galactic years, Purple Saturn Day invites competitors from across the cosmos to showcase their skill in a vibrant and bizarre interplanetary Olympics. Designed with the spirit of Epyx’s Games series in mind, this sci-fi sports title features four imaginative events: Ring Chase, a high-speed race around Saturn’s rings; Tronic Slider, a twitch-reflex obstacle run; Brain Bowler, a puzzle of logic and timing; and Time Jump, where players must pilot a craft through wormholes with precision. Bursting with color and creativity, the game blends arcade action with futuristic flair, delivering an experience that’s both humorous and challenging. Players can practice individual events or compete in a full tournament to earn glory—and a brief pole-dance celebration from the alien tournament queen. A cult favorite among European Amiga and Atari ST users, Purple Saturn Day remains a quirky gem in the Epyx legacy.
Another title where Epyx was simply the publisher, this came was developed by ERE Informatique under their Exxos label.  ERE Informatique was acquired by Infogrames Entertainment SA, which has since taken on the name of another one of their acquisitions, Atari.  Any IP inquiries should be directed to https://atari.com/pages/contact.
