Communist Mutants from Space

1982
Programmed by Stephen H. Landrum, The 1982 Communist Mutants from Space is a satirical fixed shooter drawing gameplay inspiration from Galaxian. Players defend their planet from mutant invaders controlled by the deranged Mother Creature, who continually hatches new attackers from radioactive eggs. The game offers numerous gameplay-modifying options, including shields, time warp, guided fire, and penetrating fire. A hidden easter egg reveals the programmer’s initials, and the game allows up to four players to alternate turns. It’s one of the more iconic titles in the Starpath catalog due to its quirky premise and varied gameplay.
The title and artwork from this game are too fantastic to be relegated to the 1980s. Please license this title and make a modern, awesome, retro version.
